About Us

The Gladys Project’s Mission & Vision

The Gladys Project’s mission is to promote a love of learning among children and their caregivers. Our vision is that all Gladys Project children will begin school with the basic skills required for early learning success. It is our hope that these children and their caregivers continue to explore the world in and out of the classroom for the rest of their lives.

The Gladys Project was founded in 2015 by Gladys Elaine Wilson-Reddy and carries the name of her mother and grandmother. While their name represents strong women who care about the future of their families and invest in their children’s education, the organization is dedicated to being inclusive to all members of the community, regardless of sex, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and socio-economic class.

What We Do

We offer FREE services to families with children ages 1-5. Each family is paired with a trained volunteer that is committed to a personalized learning program based on the individual child’s developmental needs.

We give families the resources to help promote healthy literacy and learning habits at home.

What We Offer

Sessions

  • Our weekly one-on-one sessions with the child, volunteer, and caregiver usually last 30-45 minutes.
  • We work with the family and volunteer to create a time that works best for everyone.
